USAA is adding 200 more jobs to its Tampa operation, the financial services company's second major expansion here in less than a year.

In February the San Antonio, Tex.-based company announced plans to fill up to 400 positions in Tampa as part of a corporate consolidation. Those jobs primarily involved servicing claims and insurance policies.

The new jobs, tied to adding a banking and investment operation here, would bring its Tampa location to nearly 2,000 employees. A number of corporate relocations are planned, but at least 80 of the new jobs will come from outside the company. The first available positions will be posted on usaa.com in November.

USAA spokesman Paul Berry said more details are expected at an afternoon press conference.

USAA, which serves millions of members of the military, runs a campus at 17200 Commerce Park Blvd., off Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Interstate 275.
