Mallory Myers, a junior at Texas A&M University, is being honored today with some very special guests in attendance.

Myers is receiving the Daily Point of Light Award from the Points of Light Institute in recognition for her and fellow A&M students' efforts on The Big Event. It is the largest one-day, student-run community service project in the nation founded at A&M back in 1982 "as a way for students to say 'Thank You' to the surrounding community."

In attendance at the ceremony will be President Barack Obama and former President George H.W. Bush who have joined forces for a Presidential Forum on Service, being held at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.

An unlikely team? Not really, if you consider the reason they have come together.
